REC, T-Hub join hands to produce renewable energy projects

The Rural Electrification Corporation’s REC Foundation and tech start-up incubator T-Hub have come together to roll out a programme to help 1,800 young college innovators in the two Telugu-speaking states to produce 600 projects focused on renewable energy. The target will be reached by extending support and mentoring under the REC Innovation Platform to 30 government engineering colleges in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The students selected from these colleges will undergo the Conceptual Research Experience Programme. They will be mentored on the finer aspects of research and innovation in the field, a release on the joint initiative said. Of the 6,000 projects, 30 will be selected for advanced mentoring. The top three from them selected for further mentoring at T-Hub. The documents for the REC Innovation Platform were exchanged at a function in T-Hub on Monday by senior representatives of the two sides, in the presence of IT and Industries Minister K.T. Rama Rao, REC Chairman and Managing Director P.V. Ramesh and IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan.
