Largest solar power plant to come up in India

The largest solar power plant in the world is going to be set up by the Indian government in its Rajasthan state. The government-owned companies are taking partnership in the 4,000 mw plant. BHEL, Powergrid Corporation, Solar Energy Corporation of India, Hindustan Salts, and Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited are the five government-owned companies which are going to set up the solar power project in a joint venture. The first phase of the project will comprise of 1,000 mw and is expected to be commissioned in 2016.
