Centre okays Bhadradri thermal project

The Ministry of Power cleared the 1,080 MW (4x270 MW) Bhadradri Thermal Power Project (BTPP) in Kothagudem district, Manuguru. The plant is being established with sub-critical thermal generation technology. In a letter to the TS-Genco, the MoP stated that it has no objection for establishment of the said coal-based thermal power plant with sub-critical technology subject to its completion by December-end 2017. Nearly Rs.1,020 crore has already been spent on BTPP works, out of the Rs.7,300 crore estimated cost of the project being executed by BHEL.
