Goa govt collects Rs 116 cr from mining leases
Recently, Goa government collected Rs 116 crore in the form of stamp duty by renewing nine mining leases and it issued fresh notices to seven more mining leases to pay the stamp duty.
These seven mining leases owned by five different mines collectively owe Rs 123 crore stamp duty.
Thus, the state government would get a cumulative revenue of Rs 240 crore in the form of stamp duty by renewing mining leases in the state.
