ONGC, OIL pay Rs.1,449 crore royalty to Assam
India´s largest state-owned petroleum explorers - Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) and Oil India (OIL) - paid a hefty Rs.1,449 crore as differential royalty on pre-discount price to the Assam government for the period between February 2014 and March 2016. OIL paid Rs.1,149 crore while ONGC made a payment of Rs.300 crore to the state government in the presence of Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, the oil ministry said in a statement. Pradhan said the Royalty was Assam´s right.
