India to have Chinese power equipment repair centres

To repair the imported Chinese power equipment in India, the Chinese manufacturers will now set up service centres in Indian cities. India and China have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Beijing on October 23 to set up Power Equipment Service Centres (PESCs) in India. The MoU was signed during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's on-going official visit to China. The MoU was signed by the Indian Power Ministry with China's National Energy Administration. The service centres would be adequately provided with equipment, personnel, spares and other facilities so as to enable them to provide all requisite spares and services support within India, a release from the Indian prime minister's office said.
