LED summit flagged off on Day 2 of Led Expo 2017
LED summit, the premier forum for the LED industry was flagged in the presence of several stake holders of lighting industry. Led Expo, India’s renowned fair for the LED lighting, components and technologies returned for its 16th edition from May 11-13 in Mumbai. The organizer, Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd, saw over 215 companies showcasing the latest price competitive LED solutions for the Indian market, out of which 110 are Indian Companies and 88 are International. Exhibitors from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea also showcased products at this three-day fair, which marked a 39 per cent increase in international participation and indicated the growing interest of Asian manufacturers in the Indian market.
D Christopher, General Manager, ELCOMA shared, “Smart India has thrown enough lighting opportunities for all stakeholders. CFL to be extinct by 2018 & replaced by LEDs. By year 2020, the lighting business will be Rs 26,000 crore out of which Rs 23,000 crore will be LED alone. To reduce lighting power consumption from 18 per cent to 13 per cent by year 2020 by changing existing domestic lights sockets and street lights with LED, will also add to the benefit of the industry.”
