CM Vasundhara Raje inaugurates Azure Power´s 100 MW Solar Plant
Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje, inaugurated Azure Power´s 100 MW Solar Power plant at Hardhani, Jodhpur (dist).
Azure Power won this project under the NSM Phase-II Batch I, to supply power to Solar Energy Corporation of India, for 25 years. The 100 MW plant is a significant milestone for ´Make in India´ solar power initiative of the company, as equipment for 60 MW was made entirely in India.
Speaking on this occasion, Inderpreet Wadhwa, Founder and CEO, Azure Power said, ´We have demonstrated our project development, engineering and execution capabilities by commissioning this plant in less than 8 months. It is the largest capacity project under NSM II, with a cumulative operational capacity of 142 MW. We are also proud to have successfully brought down the cost of power by almost 70 per cent from Rs 17.91/kWh in 2009 to Rs 5.45/kWh, inclusive of Viability Gap Funding.´
