Power Grid Q3 profit stood at Rs.1,229 crore
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Power Grid), a ´Navratn´ Company and the ´Central Transmission Utility (CTU)´ of the country, has posted a net profit of Rs 1,229 crore for the third quarter of FY 2014-15 (October-December, 2014), an increase of 18 percent against Rs 1,042 crore reported during the corresponding quarter of last financial year.
Total income for October-December, 2014 period rose to Rs 4,486 crore, up 18 per cent from Rs 3,799 crore in the year-ago period. For the first nine months of FY 2014-15, the total income and net profit are Rs 12,870 crore and Rs 3,567 crore respectively.
Power Grid had registered a net profit of Rs 4,497 crore on a turnover of Rs 15,721 crore in FY 2013-14 and had paid a total dividend of Rs 2.58 per share.
At present, Power Grid is operating about 113,690 CKT km of transmission lines along with 189 sub-stations and transformation capacity of about 220,000 MVA.
