NHPC prepares DPR for two hydro projects in Myanmar

NHPC is preparing a detailed project report (DPR) for the 1,200MW Htamanthi and the 660 MW Shwezaye hydropower projects on Chindwin River in Myanmar. Currently, the company has 14 operational power stations with a total installed capacity of 5,295 MW. It has commissioned the 14.1 MW Devighat project in Nepal and 60 MW Kurichu project in Bhutan on a turnkey basis. Its expertise is being utilised in the area of hydropower development in Myanmar, Bhutan and Tajikistan. The company is expanding its international operations and is harnessing the hydropower potential available abroad. It has been appointed as the engineering and design consultant for the execution of the 720 MW Mangdechhu HE project in Bhutan. The company has also been entrusted with the work of preparation of DPRs of 670 MW Chamkarchhu-I and 1800 MW Kuri-Gongri HE projects in Bhutan.
