Bijal Ashokbhai Shah, IAS, Managing Director, Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited, aged 49, holds a BE degree in Civil Engineering from LD College of Engineering, Ahmedabad and an additional degree in Law. Shah joined Gujarat Administrative Services (GAS) as a Probationer Deputy Collector in March 1993 and from October 1994-July 2014, served as Deputy Collector and Additional Collector on various positions. In February 2014, he was promoted to the Selection Scale Additional Collector. Acknowledging his exceptional commitment towards his services, on April 01, 2016, he was promoted to the Indian Administrative Services (IAS). On May 09, 2016, Shah was appointed as Managing Director at UGVCL. Following his appointment, the company won National Award for Excellence in Cost Management in the Category of Public - Service Sector (Large), by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India in May 2016.

Arundhati Bhattacharya made history after being appointed as the first woman Chairperson of the State Bank of India on October 07, 2013. He has worked as Executive Director of North Eastern Region, Engineering and Corporate Monitoring Group of the Company. While working at various projects and Corporate Office of NTPC and Powergrid, he was involved in conceptualisation, planning, design, engineering, monitoring and implementation of projects of National importance.
Apart from these, he has been a lead Member in Planning, Engineering and Execution of APDRP and RGGVY schemes. He is member of Governing Body of CPRI, Bangalore and Empowered Committee of Government of India for promoting competition in Power Transmission Sector. He is also associated with professional bodies such as Institution of Engineers - India, Power Engineering Society of IEEE - USA, and International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) - France. He has published/ presented numerous articles, technical papers in the field of power system in various international and National Journal/Conferences.
Sutirtha Bhattacharya, an IAS officer of 1985 (Telangana cadre), formally assumed the charge as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the coal mining monolith Coal India Limited on January 05, 2015. A Physics graduate from Presidency College, Kolkata, Bhattacharya has vast and varied experience in different sectors in governance. He had been Managing Director of Nizam Sugar Factories, Commissioner of Industries, Secretary in-charge of Irrigation Department, the biggest infrastructure department in Andhra Pradesh. As CMD, TRANSCO he had been chairman of AP Coordination Committee reviewing all AP DISCOMS. He had been Principal Secretary (Energy) and in that capacity Chairman, APGENCO. As Principal Secretary (Infrastructure & Investment) he had been associated with port, airport, natural gas and public private partnership projects implementation. Vijay R. Rupani
Chief Minister, Government of Gujarat
Vijay Rupani is an Indian politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is an incumbent Chief Minister of Gujarat, a western state in India, since August 07, 2016, and a member of the Gujarat LA representing Rajkot West. Rupani started his career as student activist associated with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). He joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and subsequently joined Jan Sangh in 1971 has been associated with BJP since its establishment. On February 19, 2016, Rupani became the state BJP president, replacing RC Faldu. Rupani was nominated by the BJP to contest his vacant seat. He won the bypoll on October 19, 2014 by a huge margin. He was inducted as minister in the first cabinet expansion by Chief Minister Anandiben Patel in November 2014 and held the ministry of transport, water supply, labor and employment. He was the BJP state president from February 2016 to August 2016.
Sanjiv Goenka is Chairman of CESC. In April 2001, he took over as the youngest-ever President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), was appointed Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-KGP) and currently serves on the board of the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata (IIM-Kolkata).
