German Hochtief eying stake in Indian hydro projects in India

German construction major Hochtief is weighing options for acquiring stakes in Indian hydropower projects, a leading business newspaper reported quoting unidentified sources.

Hochtief is primarily looking to buy up to 49 per cent in hydropower projects with a varying capacity of 100-250 MW. But Hochtief is mostly interested in projects which have approvals and government clearances but are at early stages of execution so that it can get involved in the construction work and provide project management services.
