SPCPL inaugurates second FPSO ´Armada Sterling II´
Shapoorji Pallonji and Co. Pvt. Ltd (SPCPL), in partnership with international offshore oil and gas service provider Bumi Armada Berhad, through its entity SP Armada Oil Exploration Pvt. Ltd, announced the successful installation and commissioning of its second Floating Production, Storage and Offloading Vessel (FPSO) -- Armada Sterling II.
Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan inaugrated the FPSO, which will be under ONGC time-charter at the Cluster-7 (C-7) field located about 210 kms off the western coast of Mumbai, India.
SPCPL had earlier also partnered with Malaysia´s Bumi Armada to construct its first FPSO for time-charter to ONGC that was deployed in ONGC´s D1 field in 2012.
Now, this second FPSO which was delivered and made operational for ONGC in February 2015, is capable of compressing 1.8 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, along with 26,500 barrels of crude oil and 25,000 bbls of injection water per day.
The FPSO has a storage capacity of 540,000 barrels of oil as well as accommodation for a crew of 70 personnel.
