India to get Ç1 billion assistance from Germany
With an assistance of Ç1 billion from Germany, India will develop green corridors to link the power generated from renewable sources like wind and solar energy into the national grid. Power minister Jyotiraditya Scindia held detailed discussions during his two-day visit to Berlin earlier this week for enabling India set up green energy corridors for the transmission of solar and wind power. The green energy corridors project will enable evacuation of over 30,000 MW of renewable energy generated during the 12th FiveYear Plan in India into the national grid. 'Detailed discussions were held in Berlin between Scindia and Germany's minister of state for economic co-operation & development Gudrun Kopp on the early finalisation of the green energy corridors and its implementation,' said a power ministry statement.
