Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz stated on June 26 that the power of the energy council in India is three times bigger than Turkey’s. Taner Yildiz said that India had achieved important advances in renewable energy, during a meeting with Indian Minister of New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah in Turkey’s capital Ankara.

Abdullah said that 80 per cent of India’s energy was foreign-dependent. From now on, the country aims to use the energy that has been given by the God. Now, India's power is 26,000 megawatt, including wind and sun. Each year, the country add 3,000 megawatt. Since 2010, India is following this policy, he said.

Abdullah underlined that India wanted a serious and large cooperation in renewable energy, adding that he wanted to shake hands for a perfect cooperation between two the countries-India and Turkey.
