NMDC Sees Fall in Iron Ore Production Capacity
National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has expected a fall in its production capacity to 6 mtpa this year. NMDC presently enjoys the largest mining capacity of 12 mtpa, and it had set itself a production target of 28 mt of iron ore this year. The Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) expects to mine 15 mt iron ore this year. Karnataka was accounting for 9-10 m nt. But these hopes have dimmed.
