MRPL to Import Crude Oil from Iran

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) would start importing crude oil from Iran again after the firm stopped import in April owing to sanction imposed by western countries on the Persian Gulf nation. In 2013-14, the firm plans to import about 80,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude from Iran. The company would source up to four Aframax cargoes from Iran in the beginning. It also decided to restart import from Iran because it found that other crudes are not giving the right price margin. The firm is not getting the right type of quality at the right time from other countries.
