SJVN signs MoU for 1,320 MW thermal plant

SJVN agreed to set up a 1,320 mw thermal power plant at a cost of Rs 8,218 crore at Buxar in Bihar. The firm signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bihar government in this regard. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his Deputy Sushil Kumar Modi were present at the time of signing of MoU. The plant would be constructed with super critical technology and would need an annual coal requirement of 6.25 million ton. SJVN which currently own and operates the 1,500 mw Nathpa Jhakri plant - the largest hydropower plant in the country, is in an advanced stage of completing the 412 mw Rampur hydropower plant.
