Power cuts in Noida due to transformers' break down
In Noida, massive power cuts have been reported as several power transformers in a number of substations have broken down over the last couple of days. At least six transformers, managed by a private maintenance firm, have broken down due to increase in load.
The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation, apart from penalising the company, has asked it to replace the transformers.
According to officials of the Corporation, as electricity load increased over the past two days due to the dip in temperatures, the power transformers in the substations in Sectors 10, 61 and 71, Khoda and Sorkha, among others, caught fire due to heavy load.
