A delegation of Diploma Engineers’ Association NEEPCO informed Tripura Power Minister Manik Dey that power generation from the proposed Manarchak power project may be raised if addition natural gas is supplied.
Dey held a meeting with the delegation headed by the association President Arabinda Gogoi recently. During the meeting, Dey asked the delegation to complete the 101 mw proposed power project on the schedule time.
It may be recalled that the Northeastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) is developing the Manarchak power project in Tripura.
The corporation, which aims to complete the project by August, has already finished civil construction work and machinery erection works are in full swing.
The delegation comprising Gajen Kakoti, Hamen Das, Asit Chowdhury and Majosh Kanti Dhar greeted Dey for being assumed office as Power Minister.
Later, the delegation met Head of Project (HoP) of Agartala Gas Based Project (AGBP) at Manarchak SR Biswas and discussed various issues related to the proposed power project.
By October, 2013, the project would be fully operational if everything falls in place, a NEEPCO official is quoted as saying.
