JSW Energy to buy JP Power Projects

Steel major JSW Energy has decided to acquire the Himachal Pradesh-located 300 MW Baspa Power Company Limited for a base enterprise value of approximately Rs 9,700 crore. The new acquisition takes JSW total generation to over 4,500 MW. In a filing to the BSE, JSW said that the board of Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited has approved the transfer of 300 MW Baspa II hydroelectric project. The company said that it had initiated proceedings to acquire 100 per cent in the two power plants. The combined capacity is 1,391 MW.
