Delhi Govt. yet to pay Rs 50 crore to discoms
While Delhi government’s Power Amnesty Scheme has resolved problems of overcharging or non-payment of bills, state discoms claim they have not yet received the promised payments. Government data revealed that the scheme which was open for nine months offered waivers in power bills of consumers worth a whopping Rs 128 crore. The discoms, that implemented the scheme, were supposed to get compensated for the energy charges they had waived off and this amounted to nearly Rs 50 crore for BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL), BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) combined. The monies owned to BRPL and BYPL amount to Rs 40 crore, whereas TPDDL needs Rs 11 crore.
