Lanco to prepare DPR to raise mining output
Agency reports suggest that Lanco Infratech would soon prepare a detailed project report (DPR) to raise production from its Griffin (mines) in Australia to around 16 million tonne by 2015.The mine produces about 3.6-3.7 million tonne of coal and the company expects to raise it to 4.7 - 5 million tonne by April next year, T Adibabu, Chief Operating Officer (Finance) of Lanco Infratech is quoted as saying. The diversified group bought Griffin coal assets for AUD 730 million in March last year.The company is currently planning a port that would facilitate transportation of coal from Griffin mines. Meanwhile, Lanco is locked in a AUD 3.5 billion legal battle with Australia's Perdaman Industries over Griffin.
