TN cottage industry wants generator subsidy

The Coimbatore district unit of the Tamil Nadu Association of Cottage and Micro Enterprises (TACT) has urged the State Government for an early release of subsidy for the purchase of generators by micro and small enterprises. J James, Coimbatore district President of TACT, in a letter to K Shanmugam, Finance Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu, said the State Government had offered 25 per cent subsidy to entrepreneurs for purchase of generators when the State faced acute power shortage. The Government´s gesture came as a great relief to the entrepreneurs who were hit by acute power shortage and several thousand promoters of small and micro units started buying generators from 2012.
