Goa govt to discuss Regional Plan in April
Speaking at the state Legislative Assembly, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar informed that the consultation to draft new Regional Plan for the state would start in April, after the state budget session.
It is learnt that the state government had to postpone drafting of the new regional plan because of the continuing crisis in the mining industry.
The process of drafting the regional plan (a land use plan for the state) was scheduled in September 2012, but it could not commence because the mining industry went into crisis.
Parrikar said the government at this moment, was busy handling major mining crisis. The BJP-led government after taking over the reins in the state had frozen the Regional Plan 2021, drafted by erstwhile Congress government, after it had run into controversy.
