Border areas in Pathankot get CCTV cameras, solar lights
Strategically positioned CCTV cameras and solar panel flood lights for monitoring purposes are being installed in villages along the India-Pakistan border. To be initiated on Kathlor Bridge - the only link between the international border and mainline India - the work is being conducted by the Pathankot police department in association with the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) to fully illuminate the overpass. The decision was taken as the police have been receiving intelligence reports that terrorists may use the bridge, situated to enter the border at Bamial village.
