Rs 3653 cr received from coal blocks
The coal bearing state governments have received an amount of Rs 3,653 crore till June 2017, from the allocation of coal blocks/mines under the provisions of coal mines (Special Provisions) Act, 2015. Under the aforesaid Act, provisions of the entire revenue from allocation (auction and allotment) of coal blocks/mines under the accrues to the coal bearing state government concerned.

NTPC to invest Rs.2,648 cr in Odisha
Public sector giant NTPC has lined up investments worth Rs.2648 crore for developing three coal blocks in Odisha. The state-owned behemoth plans to invest Rs.684 crore in the Dulanga coal block, which is linked to its Dariplalli super thermal power project that has the capacity to generate 1,600 MW of power.
