Fuel hike gives states Rs 227 billion windfall
Due to an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel, the state governments will reap a windfall gain of about Rs 227 billion this fiscal, claimed State Bank of India’s Economic Research Wing.

Gridco seeks 46 per cent tariff hike
Projecting a revenue deficit of Rs 3214.39 crore at the existing bulk supply price of power, the Grid Corporation of Odisha Limited (Gridco) has demanded 46 per cent hike in the BSP for FY2017-18. In its annual revenue requirement application to OERC, the state-owned utility has estimated the net revenue requirement at Rs 10,293.12 crore.

CIL rationalises price of non-coking coal
Coal India (CIL) has revised and rationalised the price of non-coking coal for all its subsidiary companies including North Eastern Coalfields (NEC) and the Non Linked Washery (NLW) coal of BCCL from May 28 of this year. The Surface Transportation Charges (STC) have also been revised from last November 14.
