Solar sector raised over $10 billion in financing during 2017
Solar funding grew last year as approximately 9.6 GW of new solar installations were added to the Indian grid. In 2017, the country’s solar sector logged over $10 billion (~Rs.650 billion) in financing activity, according to Mercom Capital Group’s recently released 2017 Q4 and Annual India Solar Market Update. Financing activity in the sector totalled approximately $4 billion (~Rs.260 billion) in 2016.

Mytrah Energy successfully raises Rs 1,800 cr
Hyderabad-based renewable power producer Mytrah, has raised Rs 1,800 crore from Piramal Group’s financial services companies. The funds are being invested in the form of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) with a seven-year tenure into two Mytrah Group entities, Mytrah Energy (India) Private Limited (Rs 980 crore) and Mytrah Ujjwal Power Private Limited (Rs 820 crore).

IndiGrid initial public issue of units to open on May 17
India Grid Trust (IndiGrid), proposes to open on May 17, 2017, an initial public issue of its units for cash at a price band per unit of Rs 98 to Rs 100, aggregating up to Rs 22,500 million.
