Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal and New and Renewable Energy and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu have jointly released the Andhra Pradesh Solar and Wind Power Policies for 2015.
NTPC allotted 1,200 acres for ultra mega project near Vizag

NTPC Ltd has drawn up plans to set up a 4000-MW ultra mega power project in Pudimadaka near Visakhapatnam wherein it has been allotted 1,200 acres by the Andhra Pradesh Government.With both the Union and the State governments keen to provide necessary support, NTPC has decided to initiate the project which entails an outlay of Rs. 20,000 crore.
GSI finds coal reserve at Andhra Pradesh

The Geological Survey of India has informed the AP government that huge reserves of coal deposits have been discovered in Chintalapudi sub-basin of West Godavari district, which can fuel 8,000 MW of power generation per annum for at least 30 years.
