Nigeria signs MoU with GE for five solar power plants
The Nigerian Northern States Governors´ Forum has signed an MoU with GE for the construction of five solar power plants. Five states including Borno, Kebbi, Nassarawa, Niger and Taraba will soon benefit from the solar power plants, with 100 MW capacity each.

DEWA inaugurates 400/132kV sub-station at solar park
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), inaugurated the 400/132 kV sub-station at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The AED 275 million sub-station has a conversion capacity of 1,515 MVA.

Azure Power(s) DMRC with rooftop solar
Azure Power announced the successful installation and operation of its rooftop solar power plant for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) at the Sultanpur facility. This is the first phase of a 14 MW allocation by DMRC to Azure Power, one of the largest by DMRC to a solar power developer.

Viviana Mall is first to have largest solar plant at single site
Viviana Mall, leading retail mall in Mumbai metropolitan region announced the inauguration of 900 kVA rooftop solar power plant at the mall. With this initiative it will become the first mall to generate 91,000 W/month through solar energy.

Sonthalia Group to set up 600 MW solar park
Sonthalia Group is likely to set up a dual 600 MW solar power park and Special Economic Zone over a 1,250 hectare barren land in Odisha on a long-term lease for 35 years. The Kolkata-based company will invest a total of Rs.400 crore on the project which will consist of a 220/440 kV pooling station for evacuation of power from the solar park.

Sukhbir Badal opens Punjab´s largest solar power plant
Punjab´s largest solar power plant of 100 MW, was inaugurated by the state´s Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal. Set up by Adani Green Energy Ltd at an investment of around Rs.640 crore, Badal said the plant would prove to be a game changer not only for 232 farmers who have given their land on lease for the project but would also act as a catalyst for others to follow.
