BDAI seeks VAT relaxation from states
Biodiesel Association of India (BDAI) has sought VAT relaxation on blending of biodiesel from states for promoting green fuel blending and energy security in the country. Currently VAT on biodiesel blending goes up to 24 per cent in several states and the Association has warned that if the states do not provide promotional VAT rate on B5 Blends, the biodiesel blending in retail segment would be killed.

We need investment of over $100 billion, over the next 8 years

Firstly, cells manufactured in India are 15-20 per cent costlier and less efficient as compared to imported ones. Secondly, there are supply constraints fon account of limited manufacturing capacities.
