Expecting thrust to USC technology in new projects
Mainly, super critical and ultra super critical (USC) technologies. Toshiba has very good experienced with ultra super critical technology. We have earlier set up a plant in Japan. So we have introduced USC technology in power generation. In India, the first example is the Harduaganj project in Uttar Pradesh.
India will soon embrace quality, like Japan did
Basically, all markets are the same, with a few exceptions. Many markets are based on the specifications and based on the bidding, then some rules are set, otherwise there is no big difference.
Given the fact that a significant quantity of coal will continue to dominate India´s energy generation, energy efficiency becomes vital. As per the thumb rule: higher efficiency in the generation of electricity means, lower consumption of coal per unit of electricity generated.

in the electrical and power equipment sector in India. When posed with some tricky questions, a surprising wave of positivity appeared among private industry leaders over the government´s tall claims of having a level playing field in this sector.
Toshiba bags contract for super-critical steam turbine
Toshiba Corporation has announced that Toshiba JSW Power Systems Private Ltd., a Toshiba Group company based in Chennai, has been awarded a contract by NTPC Limited, India's largest state-owned energy service provider, for the supply of two 800MW super-critical steam turbine and generator island packages for the Darlipali Super Thermal Power Station in Darlipali, Orissa state. The new steam turbines will enter operation by early 2018. Toshiba JSW will carry out engineering, procurement and const
