Gujarat power discoms seek fuel-surcharge increase
Power distribution companies (discoms) in state have approached Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) seeking a hike in fuel price and power purchase adjustment (FPPPA) base price or fuel surcharge. However, the disocms have not sought any increase in basic electricity tariffs for fiscal 2018-19.

Discoms push for Rs 12,000 crore hike in power tariff
The four power distribution companies (discoms) together will push for a burden of approximately Rs 12,000 crore to be passed on to consumers in the form of increased tariff, a rise of 15 to 20 per cent depending on the categories. The discoms that are mired in debts and losses of over Rs 27,000 crore are once again falling short of revenue for the next year.
