The biggest opportunity comes from government sector
We had started lighting division in 2004. Till then Havells had presence in switches, switch gear, wires and cables. Last year, our turnover in lighting was close to Rs.1000 crore, in which LED component is now more than 75 per cent.

EESL to brighten Hyderabad with LED street lighting project
Hyderabad will soon be home to the world’s largest LED street lighting project, as the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), under the Ministry of Power, has signed an MoU with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to retrofit a whopping 4.5 lakh street lights.

Khonsa gets LED solar street lights
Khonsa East MLA and APSMPB Chairman Wanglam Sawin inaugurated 38 LED solar street lights in the district. Rs 40 cr sanctioned for solar streetlights in UP
Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned nearly Rs 40 crore for installation of solar powered street lights in Uttar Pradesh. Chief secretary Jawed Usmani, who was presiding over a review meeting on July 6 asked officials of the UP New Energy Development Authority (UPNEDA) to ensure that another Rs 29 crore is granted from the Centre.
