"NTPC Ltd has signed a non-binding MoU with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd and Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd for takeover of Chhabra Thermal Power Plant Stage-I (4x 250 MW) and Stage-II (2x660 MW) of Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam by NTPC Ltd," the company said in a BSE filing.
IT-enabled power distribution to save Rs 10,000 crore annually

Government aims to save as much as Rs 10,000 crore annually by leveraging IT to ramp up its power distribution network in urban towns by January 2019. Moving in this direction, the Ministry of Power is likely to award the works to have IT-driven power distribution in as many as 2,636 towns across the country by December this year.
