Adani gets nod to build solar power equipment unit
Adani Enterprises Ltd has secured approval from the Gujarat government to begin work on building a solar power equipment plant on its own after earlier unsuccessful attempts to build the plant in partnership with technology providers such as clean-power developer SunEdison.

Mithapur plant of Tatas generates 43 mn units of solar power
Tata Power has generated 43.386 million units of solar power from its 25 mw facility at Mithapur in Gujarat in 2012-13. Spread over 100 acres, the solar plant uses crystalline silicon photo-voltaic technology, the company said recently. Tata Power, through its 100 per cent subsidiary Tata Power Renewable Energy had signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the project with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam, Anil Sardana, Managing Director of the company, said in Ahmedabad.

NTPC to set up solar plant near Faridabad in Haryana
AK Jha, Director (Technical) of state-run generation utility NTPC recently laid the foundation stone of a 5 mw solar photo-voltaic plant at Village Jhajru near NTPC in Faridabad of Haryana. The project is being constructed on approximately 20 acres of land. The work for this project has been awarded to Eversun Energy and Enmas GB Power System Projects for Main Solar Plant package and Power Evacuation Package, respectively.
