More players to be roped in to boost LED bulb sales
Over two years after it started the ‘Hosa Belaku’ scheme to distribute LED lights, the Karnataka government is now planning to rope in more partners to distribute the energy efficient lights. At present, the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), an entity under the Union government, is distributing the lights.
Bridging the gap
While India seeks to be the next super power and the biggest economic player in Asia, this entails large strides towards development, which despite all policies and intentions is not possible without sufficient energy supply.
Savings through use of LEDs range from 50-60 percentage
Energy efficiency plays a vital role in meeting India´s growing demand for power. Each unit saved by a single household generates a unit for another household. Today, LEDs are considered to be the most efficient source of lighting.
