Nalco ties-up with Mahanadi Coalfields for coal supply

To get fuel supply for its captive power plant, National Aluminium Company (NALCO) has signed a long term fuel supply agreement with Mahanadi Coalfield (MCL). As part the pact, MCL will supply 47.16 lakh tonne of coal to NALCO's captive power plant at Angul and 8,73,324 tonne of coal for its steam cum power generation plant, at Damanjodi.

A fully integrated producer of value-added ferro chrome Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys (IMFA) has announced the commissioning of the second unit of its 2x60 mw captive power plant at Choudwar, Odisha. The company's first unit was commissioned in January this year. Now, the company’s captive power generation capacity stands at 258 mw. Set up at a cost of Rs 600 crore, the 120-mw power plant will primarily cater to the company’s captive requirement for its ferro chrome production.

The captive power generation capacity of Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys (IMFA) rose to 258 mw with the synchronisation of the second unit of its 120 mw captive power plant (CPP) in Odisha with the grid.
