Gamesa bags 40 MW wind order from KCT Renewable Energy

Gamesa has announced a 40 MW wind power project from KCT Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd to be commissioned at the Molagavalli site in Andhra Pradesh. The project essentially comprises 20 units of G114-2.0 MW T106 turbines which are due to be commissioned by March 2017.

For building wind farm and maintenance Gamesa India has won an order of 65 wind turbine generators of 2 mw capacity each, from CLP India. The order is expected to be about Rs 900 crore. Gamesa sells its 2 mw machines at around Rs 13 crore, hence the value of the order is expected to be about Rs 900 crore. CLP India is a leading wind Independent Power Producer and a subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based CLP Holdings. The IPP has wind power assets of about 1,100 mw in India.

The notification of the Income Tax Department, Ministry of Finance, Government of India withdrawing Accelerated Depreciation (AD) with effect from 1 April 2012 is considered a major setback.
