Making TPPs sustainable
The Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC) has notified the revised standards for coal-based Thermal Power Plants (TPPs) in the country in December 2015, with the primary aim of minimising pollution, in line with the country´s intent/commitments made at CoP21 at Paris last year.
Impact of costs should get pass through in tariffs
Preliminary estimates indicate capital expenditure requirement in the range of Rs.1.25 Cr/MW to Rs.1.5 Cr/MW, i.e about 20-25 per cent of the capital cost of a coal based power plant. Considering the above estimates, the total outlay involved could be about Rs.2.5 lakh crores.

Bosch’s Industry 4.0 can transform India into a global manufacturing hub
Industry 4.0 or connected industry, has enhanced and brought in a revolutionary change in the way work is done in a manufacturing set-up. Bosch India’s Chakan plant is a member of the International Production Network (IPN) for the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and the Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
Reduction of auxiliary power consumption using CFD techniques
In a thermal power plant, hot flue gases along with ash containing quartz and mullite (abrasive) particles leave through the Economizer (ECO) outlet, pass through the Regenerative Air Pre-heater (RAPH), flue gas duct, Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP), Induced Draught (ID) Fan and Stack.
Need of Bag Houses in Coal Fired Power Plants
As India is marching towards a high growth economy, there will be a huge requirement for power to accelerate the growth of her manufacturing sector. Most of the power (over 70 per cent) for this will have to come from coal fired boilers as the country is blessed with plenty of coal reserves.
