ABB commissions substation in Uttarakhand
Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited has awarded ABB India contract to construct a transmission substation in Khandukhal, Uttarakhand. The substation has recently been successfully commissioned, and serves to evacuate power generated from the rivers and integrate it into the national grid.

Siemens receives order worth Rs.217 crore from PGCB
Siemens Ltd announced that it has received an order worth approximately Rs.217 crore from Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited (PGCB) to supply 400 kV/230 kV switch yard equipments, reactors, power transformers, fire fighting systems, air-conditioning systems, auxiliary power system, building management systems, illumination systems, AC control and protections, engineering for civil and plant for 500 MW HVDC station.

Exports have picked up over the period and will continue to grow. This industry is highly labour-intensive and Indian companies score well due to low cost of manufacturing.
CG bags contract from ERDF
Avantha Group firm CG has bagged a three-year contract Electricite Reseau Distribution France (ERDF) to provide maintenance and repair services to 4,500 high power transformers.
