Gopal Singh, the chairman of Coal India subsidiary Central Coalfields has been made the temporary chairman of Coal India Ltd (CIL). Singh would continue to be the temporary Chairman till the government finds a full time candidate for the post.

CoalMin to move Cabinet for fuel linkages
The coal ministry will soon seek the Cabinet´s approval for the auction of coal linkages for the power sector. ´It is broadly finalised. We will take it to the Cabinet soon. We will soon go for inter-ministerial consultations. The whole process has been finalised,´ Coal and Power Minister Piyush Goyal said.

Govt may cap number of coal blocks
The government is considering capping the amount of coal blocks that a company can hold. The clause is part of the draft coal block allocation guidelines issued for public comments by the coal ministry and would apply to mines other than the 204 blocks that were cancelled by the Supreme Court in October 2014.

THDCIL and MoC, inked Allotment Agreement
DV Singh, CMD, THDCIL and Vivek Bhardwaj, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India signed the Allotment Agreement for Amelia Coal Mine this month. UC Kannaujia, GM(SP) and Mukul Sharma, Sr. Manager (Thermal Design), THDC NCR Office Kaushambi were also present on the occasion with senior officials of THDCIL and Ministry of Coal.
