Call to complete power project on time
The Telangana State Thermal Project deadline should be strictly met, according to DK Dubey, Executive Director, NTPC Ramagundam. In a new year's address at the TSTP project site, Dubey called upon the officials to complete the 2x800 MW as per schedule with strict adherence to safety. Also present on the occasion, UK Dasgupta, GM - O&M, underlined the importance planning to get things done on or before the scheduled time.

I-T Dept slaps Rs.20,495 cr tax demand on Cairn India
Cairn India Ltd, the petroleum arm of London-headquartered Vedanta Resources Plc, said on Friday, it received a tax notice of Rs 20,495 crore from the Income Tax Department for failing to deduct withholding tax on alleged capital gains by its erstwhile promoter, Cairn UK Holdings Ltd (CUHL), a subsidiary of Edinburgh-based Cairn Energy Plc.
