The new conveyor measuring 832 metre with 1,500 mm belt can carry 1,000 tonne of lignite per hour and was linked with the existing conveyor system.
Telangana power generation capacity to touch 17,000 MW by year-end
Telangana is set to increase its power generation capacity from 14,200 MW to 15,000 MW by March 2018 and to about 17,000 MW by the year-end. The capacity augmentation will come through the commissioning of 800 MW coal-fired thermal power plant at Kothagudam by March 2018.

Tata Power's generation crosses 52,000 MUs in FY17
Tata Power, announced that the company’s generation, for the first time, has crossed 52,000 Million Units (MU), collectively from all its power plants in FY17. The company also reported capacity increase by 16 per cent per cent in FY17 as compared to FY16.

Don’t need more coal power units | CEA
The country’s peak power demand at the end of the financial year 2021-22 will be 235 GW, down 17 per cent from the estimate made in 2012, CEA has said. With this revision, taking into account the lower-than-estimated economic growth in the five years to March 31 2017, the CEA reckons that the country wouldn’t need any more coal-based power stations, other than the 50-GW under-construction capacity, till 2027.
