Farmers to pay only 10% cost of solar pumps under Budget scheme
The country’s farmers are likely to witness government’s generosity owing to the schemes announced in Budget 2018. According to Power Minister R K Singh, the Indian farmer will effectively bear only 10 per cent of cost for solarising his agricultural pump under a scheme unveiled in the Budget 2018-19.

Koderma villages to be linked to power grid
Global payment services provider Western Union has announced that it will help supply electricity to 15 villages in India. The company has adopted Baradih and Piparadih villages of Chandwara blocks in Koderma district, and will provide them with solar panel-powered electricity in collaboration with TERI.

Border areas in Pathankot get CCTV cameras, solar lights
Strategically positioned CCTV cameras and solar panel flood lights for monitoring purposes are being installed in villages along the India-Pakistan border. To be initiated on Kathlor Bridge - the only link between the international border and mainline India - the work is being conducted by the Pathankot police department in association with the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) to fully illuminate the overpass.

Waaree Energies clears Type -1 fire testing standard
India´s largest solar PV module manufacturer, Waaree Energies, has passed the Type-1 fire testing standard from Intertek, a UK-based multinational photovoltaic and solar panel testing and certification group, for its solar PV modules.
