IIT-M students develop intelligent street lighting device

EESL to implement India’s first rural LED street light project in AP

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), under the Ministry of Power, will retrofit 10 lakh conventional street lights with LED lights in gram panchayats of seven districts in Andhra Pradesh. This is the first project for rural LED street lighting in the country under the Government of India’s Street Lighting National Project (SLNP).

Commenting on the same, Gautam Seth, Jt. Managing Director, HPL Electric and Power Ltd said, ´HPL Electric & Power Ltd. has a robust order book pipeline of around Rs.365 crore including lighting and switch gears segments and exports have grown by 14.5 per cent.
