CNIITMASH and HEC to establish technical training centre
CNIITMASH (a company being a part of Atomenergomash, a machine-building division of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation) and Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd. (HEC) have launched the second stage of implementation of the agreement to establish the Center for General Engineering and Technical Training in India.
Larsen arm wins Rs 1,656-cr contract from ONGC
L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of L&T, has bagged an off-shore contract for the Neelam Re-Development and B173AC project from ONGC valued at Rs 1,656 crore. The contract encompasses EPC, installation and commissioning for the project.
Performance enhancements for advanced controllers for automation
The new firmware 2.1 for the Simatic S7-1500 Advanced Controller from Siemens now allows the user to use the new functions of the Engineering Framework TIA Portal V14 SP1. These include openness to other systems, such as the standardized, bi-directional exchange of engineering data via AutomationML (Automation Markup Language) with Eplan engineering software, the TIA Selection Tool or other CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) tools.
Kudankulam NPP second unit begins commercial operation
ASE Engineering Company and NPCIL as the operating entity in India of the Kudankulam NPP (KKNPP), have signed the provisional acceptance certificate of Unit 2 of the KKNPP, which allows the unit to begin its one-year period of warranty operation. For NPCIL, this is the first step towards the commercial operation of the unit.
Russia to be partner country for International Engineering Sourcing Show IESS 2017
6th International Engineering Sourcing Show IESS 2017 will be taking place from March 16-18, 2017 in Chennai (India) in the exhibition complex CTC Centre. This year Russian Federation received the honorary status of “IESS Partner Country” for the first time. A joint national exposition will presented by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
