MD and CEO discusses closer ties with General Electric

The delegation included Scott Strazik, Vice President at GE & Commercial Leader of General Electric-Gas Power Systems, Joe Mastrangelo, Vice President at GE, and Ghassan Barghout, President and CEO of General Electric, Gas Power Systems in Middle East and North Africa.

TPREL commissions two projects in AP and TN
Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), announced the commissioning of 36 MW wind capacity of a 100 MW wind farm (under construction) at Nimbagallu in Andhra Pradesh, and 49 MW solar plant at Kayathar, Tamil Nadu, under Welspun Renewable Energy Private Limited (WREPL).
SJVN Limited awards 50 MW Order to Inox Wind
Inox Wind Limited has bagged an order for a 50 MW wind power project from SJVN Limited to be deployed in Gujarat. The project is scheduled to be commissioned by November 2017 and will be executed on turnkey basis. As part of the order, Inox Wind will supply and install 25 units of its advanced 2 MW DFIG 113 rotor dia wind turbine generators for SJVN Limited.
Impact of costs should get pass through in tariffs
Preliminary estimates indicate capital expenditure requirement in the range of Rs.1.25 Cr/MW to Rs.1.5 Cr/MW, i.e about 20-25 per cent of the capital cost of a coal based power plant. Considering the above estimates, the total outlay involved could be about Rs.2.5 lakh crores.
