Boiler Light-up achieved for fourth 660 MW Unit of Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant
Reliance Power Ltd has informed BSE that Boiler Light-up has been achieved in respect of the fourth 660MW unit of the 3,960 MW (6X660 MW) Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant (UMPP) being developed by Sasan Power Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. The first 660 MW unit of the Sasan UMPP was commissioned in March 2013 and the second unit in Jan 2014. MahaVitaran wants cut in interest rate for Mundra UMPP
MahaVitaran has strongly argued that the CERC order on a compensatory rate for the Mundra UMPP was arbitrary, unreasonable and against the scheme of the Electricity Act. MahaVitaran has a power purchase agreement with the Tata Power arm, Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd (CGPL), for 760 MW. it has asked for setting aside the CERC order.
